About Hailey Stern

If you told Hailey she'd end up in real estate when she packed her bags in Texas, she probably would've laughed.

She came to Taos in November 2023 planning to stay for one winter as a snowboard instructor. As it turns out, Taos had other plans. They don't call it the "Land of Entrapment" for nothing.

What started as a seasonal adventure quickly turned into something much bigger. Between teaching kids to ski and snowboard, guiding rafts down the Rio Grande, managing an adventure company office, and falling completely in love with the mountains and the people, Taos slowly stopped feeling like a destination and started feeling like home.

Before trading scrubs for snow boots, Hailey spent four years as a veterinary technician, where she learned the importance of patience, clear communication, attention to detail, and keeping calm when things don't go according to plan. (As it turns out, those skills transfer surprisingly well to real estate.)

Her path into real estate wasn't traditional—and she wouldn't have it any other way. It actually began by pet sitting for Victoria Gunn, which eventually led to helping behind the scenes with administrative work for the Victoria Gunn Team. As she became more involved, she found herself fascinated by the real estate industry and eager to learn every aspect of the business. That experience ultimately inspired her to earn her New Mexico real estate license and gave her a unique perspective on what it takes to help a transaction come together smoothly from start to finish.

Today, Hailey is proud to serve clients as a REALTOR® with the Victoria Gunn Team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Taos Real Estate. Whether you're buying your first home, looking for a weekend mountain getaway, or selling a place filled with memories, she believes the process should feel exciting—not overwhelming. Her goal is to make every client feel informed, supported, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.

What Hailey loves most isn't just the homes—it's the stories behind them. She knows what it's like to fall in love with Taos, to build a life here unexpectedly, and to discover that sometimes the places we never planned on staying become the ones we can't imagine leaving.

When she's not working, you'll probably find her hiking with her dogs, taking care of far too many plants and animals, exploring local coffee shops, or finding any excuse to spend time outside by the river.
