Warm, spacious and wonderfully private, this inviting Taos home is defined by the way its generous interior spaces open naturally to courtyards, gardens and covered outdoor living areas. Set on 1.5 beautifully landscaped acres, the three-bedroom, three-bath residence feels open and welcoming, with mature trees and plantings, three distinct courtyards, a deep covered portal, and outdoor access from every bedroom.
Inside, nearly 3,000 square feet of living space has been lovingly maintained and thoughtfully updated while retaining the Southwestern character that gives the home its warmth. Vigas, tongue-and-groove ceilings, tile floors and a kiva-style fireplace bring traditional Taos elements into comfortable, easygoing rooms filled with natural light. The living and dining spaces are generous without feeling formal, and the home’s layout makes it easy to move between the interior and the many outdoor spaces surrounding it. The home was remodeled in 2019 and includes radiant heat and split-system cooling.
The primary suite is a standout. Spacious and private, it opens to an unusually luxurious bath and dressing area with chandeliers, extensive cabinetry and a large walk-in closet that feels almost like a room of its own. The two additional bedrooms are also comfortably sized, and each has direct access outdoors, making the gardens and courtyards a true extension of the home.
The outdoor spaces make this property particularly memorable. Each of the three courtyards has its own character, creating places for morning coffee, quiet afternoons, outdoor dining or gathering with friends. Mature flowers, trees and a dedicated lavender garden are served by drip irrigation. A rock waterfall and stream bring the sound of moving water into the landscape, while the covered back portal includes an outdoor kitchen and opens to a lush flagstone patio with a private hot tub.
The oversized attached two-car garage boasts generous storage space. The property also includes a private well, natural gas, septic, fiber optics and no HOA.
From the intimacy of the gardens and courtyards, the property opens dramatically to the west through the bay windows of the primary bath, with its grand soaking tub framing the changing light and spectacular Taos sunsets.
